This is a made-up example, somewhat exaggerated to illustrate the point, and yet, sadly, it’s not that exaggerated.
ORIGINAL: She winked her eye, nodded her head, shrugged her shoulders, all the while her heart beat rapidly in her chest. She reached out her hand and grabbed the doorknob.
EDITOR’S COMMENTS: Um, what else would she wink or nod or shrug? Where else would her heart be beating if not in her chest? Is she so talented she can grab a doorknob with something other than her hand?
