After several years of resisting progress, and my publisher, I finally relented. I have three novels coming out on audiobook this year.
I don’t listen to audiobooks so I assumed no one else does either. But after a good number of readers requested, I gave in. Just because I don’t do audiobooks doesn’t mean nobody else does.
I have tried. Made a mistake by trying to listen to audiobook for the first time while driving on a long business trip. About an eight-hour drive. I nearly fell asleep.
It wasn’t a bad or boring book, but I was conditioned as a small child to fall asleep when someone reads to me. Listening to a bedtime story is not a good idea when traversing the Indian Nation Turnpike across Oklahoma at 80mph.
